Irwin Braunstein

Irwin Braunstein, 81, of Basking Ridge died Jan. 5, 2016. Born in Passaic, he also had resided in Livingston and West Palm Beach, Fla.

A self-employed butcher who spent his entire career in the retail meat industry, Mr. Braunstein was the owner/operator of Elfenbein’s Meats in Newark. 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elayne (Shain); two daughters, Lori Udell of Cherry Hill and Gale of Basking Ridge; two sons, David of Warren and Michael of Basking Ridge; a brother, Allan of Wyckoff; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 7 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation B’nai Israel, 40 Whitenack Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
