Iris Goodman
Iris M. Goodman (Berman) of Virginia Beach, Va., died June 2, 2018. She was born in Bayonne and raised her family in Springfield before spending her last years in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Goodman worked as a reporter at the Newark Star Ledger, later writing a syndicated column on baby and child care under the pen name Iris Lane.
She graduated from Cornell University.
She taught English to new immigrants, read books for the blind, took courses, joined book clubs, and volunteered with the League of Women Voters and PTAs. She also served as president of the Springfield chapter of Hadassah.
Predeceased by her husband, Larry, she is survived by two daughters, Jerilyn Goodman of Virginia and Rebecca and Ron Stone of Fort Lee; her son, Jeffrey (Jeannie) of Virginia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 5 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
