Irene C. Weiss, 83, of West Orange died Oct. 15, 2015. She grew up in Newark’s Weequahic section and also had lived in Livingston and Florham Park.
Ms. Weiss owned and managed Plant Parenthood, a small business dedicated to greening interior spaces through plants.
She attended University of Wisconsin and New York University.
Her lifelong community service efforts included volunteer work at Overlook Medical Center and Morristown Medical Center, where she volunteered into her 70s.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Ravin (Jeffrey) Libman of Randolph and Judith Ravin of Arlington, Va., and three grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 18 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
