Irene Silverberg (Salz), 90, of Livingston died Aug. 12, 2013. She was born in Newark and moved to Livingston in 1952.
At age 20, Mrs. Silverberg volunteered for the Navy. She served as a member of the WAVES as a dental technician during World War II. She was stationed in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and Bethesda, Md.
She graduated from Irvington High School.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leo, whom she married in 1949; her daughter, Ilene Silverberg-Keslin (Michael); her son, Howard (Melinda); three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held Aug. 14 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, New York City.
