Irene Lewis
Irene Lewis (Gans), 97, of West Orange died Feb. 8, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, she resided for a time in Kearny before moving to West Orange.
During her career as a sales associate and buyer, Ms. Lewis was employed by the Jeanette Shop in Nutley and Kmart in Belleville.
An opera singer, she toured with the USO during World War II.
She is survived by two nieces and two nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Services were held Feb. 11 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
