Ida Solomon

Ida Penn Solomon, 101, of Monroe Township died June 4, 2013. Born in Odessa, Russia, she immigrated to the United States, settling in New York City, where she resided until moving to Monroe.

Prior to retiring in 1997, Mrs. Solomon worked as bookkeeper for a realtor in Manhattan for 40 years.

She was a life member of Hadassah’s Henrietta Szold chapter in Brooklyn.

Predeceased by her husband, Abraham, in 1979, and her son-in-law, Jack Samson, in 2007, she is survived by her son, Laurence of Los Angeles; her daughter, Elinor Samson of East Brunswick; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 7 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah, 50 West 58th St., New York, NY 10019.
