Ida Reiss

Ida Rubelsky Reiss, 98, of Ewing Township died Nov. 1, 2012. She was raised in New York City and moved to Trenton in 1952. In 1978 she retired to Florida and returned to the Trenton area in 2004.

Mrs. Reiss worked as a bookkeeper and model in the fur industry in New York. After moving to Trenton, she and her husband started a wholesale dry goods business. In 1958, largely at her urging, the family opened a retail children’s store which later became a men’s and boys’ clothing store that is still run by her son and grandsons.

Predeceased by her husband, Philip, and a grandson, Joshua Scott Reiss, who died at the World Trade Center on 9/11, she is survived by her son, Gary; her daughter, Barbara Reiss; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services were held Nov. 4 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be offered to Greenwood House, Ewing, or the Joshua Reiss Memorial 9/11 Foundation.
