Hyman Schneier
Hyman Oliver Schneier, 95, of West Caldwell died Feb. 1, 2014. He was born in New York City.
Mr. Schneier worked for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and then for the U.S. Department of the Army, Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, for 35 years, where he was officially commended for his high-quality performance.
He graduated with honors from Stuyvesant High School and Cooper Union Institute of Technology as a chemical engineer.
He served in the U.S. Army on Okinawa during World War II with distinction.
He was a 54-year member of Congregation Agudath Israel, where he enjoyed choir membership.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gertrude Davis Schneier; two sons, Joel and Franklin (Carol Rosenthal); and two grandsons.
Services were held Feb. 2 with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels, Cedar Grove.
