Hyman Firkser
Hyman Firkser, 89, of West Caldwell died July 24, 2012. He was born in Jerusalem in 1922.
Mr. Firkser was a well-known, long-time pharmacist at Liggett Rexall Drugs and later Greenhill Pharmacy in Parsippany. He continued to work until 2011.
He graduated from Rutgers College of Pharmacy.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries received in action. He was an active member of the Knights of Pythias, the Jewish War Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Claire (Miller); his daughter, Sharyn Firkser of West Caldwell; his son, Alan of Montclair; a brother, Boaz of Israel; and two granddaughters.
Services were held July 27 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
