Hilda Sorhagen
Hilda Chana Sorhagen (Thaler), 97, of Morristown died Nov. 24, 2015. Born in Hungary, she came to the United States when she was 12 years old.
After the death of her husband James, Mrs. Sorhagen took over and operated Crofutt and Smith Moving and Storage Company, a third-generation family business, until her retirement in 1977.
She was an active member of the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown. She was honored on numerous occasions for her outstanding commitment to the school and its community, and was recognized for her facilitation in the restoration and donation of a Sefer Torah to a synagogue in Nicaragua in 2007.
Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Gerald) Grosslicht of Mendham; two sons, Roger (Michelle) of Flanders and Dennis (Anne) of Wilmington, NC; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 25 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Rabbinical College of America.
