Herman Wapnowitz
Herman “Chuck” Wapnowitz, 86, of West Orange died Sept. 7, 2013. He was born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn.
Following an apprenticeship as a jeweler, Mr. Wapnowitz opened his own jewelry manufacturing business in Union. In addition to sales, he was responsible for the design and creation of fine jewelry.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a volunteer at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife, Selma (Silverman); his daughter, Aleen (Robert) Klein; a sister, Charlotte Cohen; and two grandchildren .
Services were held Sept. 9 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
