Herbert Jaffe
Herbert M. Jaffe, 87, of Pompton Plains died Oct. 11, 2012. Born in Germany, he was educated in Belgium and lived for 39 years in Livingston before moving to Pompton Plains in 2009.
Mr. Jaffe, who trained in the sound business at the RCA Institute, was a longtime corporate executive with Atlas Sound of Parsippany. His career was filled with stops at landmark names in the sound industry, such as Executone and Dukane, before joining Atlas in 1969. He spent two decades with the firm as vice president of marketing and general sales manager. After retiring, he stayed active in the field for another two decades, advising Middle Atlantic Products and putting his technical training to work at Livingston’s local cable station, TV-34.
Predeceased by his older son, Robert, in 2010, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn; his daughter, Carole Felsenstein of Morristown; his son, Chuck of Cohasset, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 12 with arrangements by M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains.
