Herbert Jacobs

Herbert Jacobs, 87, of Monroe Township died Sept. 28, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, he resided in East Brunswick, Edison, and Woodbridge before moving to Monroe in 1994.

Mr. Jacobs was a Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, and served during both the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring in 1967 after 22 years of service.

He was a former member of the East Brunswick Water Policy Board, past chairman of the East Brunswick AARP legislative committee, and former board member of The Society Hill Condo Association. He also did volunteer work at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

He is survived by his wife, Murial (Snipper) Freeman-Jacobs; two sons, William (Nancy) of Glendale, Ariz., and Scott (Geraldine) of Burlington; a stepson, Richard Freeman; and a stepdaughter, Jodi Freeman.

Services were held Oct. 1 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
