Helen Davis

Helen Kabacoff Davis, 91, of South Orange died Jan. 4, 2012.

Mrs. Davis worked as a speech teacher, as a service representative for AT&T, and more recently as a librarian for RosenfarbWinters in Roseland.

She received her bachelor’s degree in education from New York University in 1941.

She was a member of Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange for 83 years, where she served as vice president. She also served as the vice president of Beth Israel Hospital’s Women’s Auxiliary, board member at Daughters of Israel, and chair of the South Orange chapter of UJA. She was a member of Green Brook Country Club, North Caldwell, where she chaired a number of committees.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Franklin; three daughters, Marilyn Rosenfarb, Nancy Forman, and Carol Davis-Grossman; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 6 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
