Harry Wolt

Harry Wolt, 97, of Livingston and Delray Beach, Fla., died June 4, 2012.

Mr. Wolt was the owner of Harry’s Hardware in Livingston, a business he operated from 1950 until 1976.

He served as president of the Livingston Chamber of Commerce. One of his major accomplishments during his tenure was the approval of construction of the Livingston Mall.

He served in the United States Navy as a Machinist First Class, traveling the world on the USS Catamount during World War II.

Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Baranker), he is survived by his daughter, Maxine Dornfeld of Livingston; two sisters, Selma Fein of Kenilworth and Lenore Gonzer of Coconut Creek, Fla.; a brother, Sheldon of Coconut Creek; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 7 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Daughters of Israel, West Orange.
