Harry Engel

Harry “Buddy” Engel, Jr., 91, of West Orange died Dec. 12, 2012. Born in Long Island, he moved to Newark when he was eight.

Mr. Engel owned Specialty Paper Box, which was originally in Newark before moving to Bloomfield and West Orange.

He attended Barringer High School, Newark, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in 1942.

He served in the Army during World War II.

He was a longstanding member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell.

Predeceased by his wives, Doris and Judith, he is survived by his son, Harry; his daughter, Ellen; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 13 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
