Harry A. Augenblick, 90, of Livingston died March 29, 2017. He was born in South Orange.
An aeronautics and microwave engineer and entrepreneur for 70 years, Mr. Augenblick founded a microwave engineering firm, Microlab/FXR. He held multiple patents and developed products that advanced NASA’s space program, modernized cellular telephony, and protected Western governments and industries from surveillance during the Cold War.
He graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology at age 20 and moved back to New Jersey, where he lived for the rest of his life.
He served for many years on the boards of Orange Memorial Hospital and Livingston State Bank.
Predeceased by a daughter, Joan Augenblick, he is survived by two daughters, Lynda Asher and Kathy Augenblick; his son, Steve (Caroline) Augenblick; and three grandchildren.
Services were held April 1 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
