Harriet Semel
Harriet Semel (Schwartzbach), 76, of Watchung and New York City died Dec. 27, 2010. She was born in Elizabeth and lived there as well as in Old Bridge.
Mrs. Semel worked in Elizabeth as a legal secretary, and spent all of her career in that field, most recently with Garruto, Galex and Cantor. She and her husband, Michael, later founded the American Plastics Company.
She graduated from Battin High School, Elizabeth.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years; her son, Paul of Skippack, Pa.; her daughter, Marci Cooke of Westmoreland, NH; a sister, Joan Sola of Lake Monticello, Va.; two brothers, Edward Schwartzbach of Toms River and William Schwartzbach of Old Bridge; and two granddaughters.
Services were held Dec. 29 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
