Harriet Popper

Harriet Popper (Geltman), 83, of West Orange died Sept. 2, 2013. Born in Newark, she had been a resident of West Orange for over 50 years and for the last several years was also a part-time resident of Delray Beach, Fla.

Mrs. Popper was employed as a librarian at the South Orange Public Library for many years before her retirement.

She earned a BA degree from Rutgers University, Newark.

She was an avid bridge player who achieved Gold Life Master status. She was also a member of Hadassah.

She is survived by three sons, Howard of Long Valley, Michael of Delray Beach, and Stuart of Livingston; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 4 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
