Harold Bushberg
Harold “Harry” Bushberg, 95, of Verona died April 16, 2012. He was a native of Newark and moved to Verona in 1953.
Mr. Bushberg and his brother Gilbert founded Bushberg Bros. Furniture. On May 5, 1996, he received the Key to the City of Newark, honoring him for a lifetime of contribution to the city.
He served as a Marine in the Panama Canal Zone from 1942 to 1946.
He was a member of the Jewish Community Center of Verona, where he endowed a library in his parents’ name. He was a member of Cedar Hill Country Club, Livingston, and the Masons.
Predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, he is survived by two daughters, Bette Damiano and Carol Bushberg; his son, Steven; a sister, Sally Kaplan; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 18 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society or The Fisher House Foundation.
