Harold Blinder
Harold “Heshy” Blinder, 88, of Parsippany died Oct. 3, 2012. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Irvington and Maplewood before moving to Parsippany in 1954.
Mr. Blinder was co-owner of J. Blinder & Sons Inc. in Newark for 50 years before retiring in 1997.
He was the last of 23 members of the “74” smokers club at Weequahic High School in Newark, remaining in touch with his peers at least once a year.
He served in the United States Marines during World War II.
He was an avid member of the Jockey Hollow Stamp Club in Morristown.
He is survived by his wife, Carole (Kroll); his daughter, Lori Barr of New York City; two sons, Martin of Greenville, NC, and Bruce of Denville; a brother, Seymour of Lake Worth, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Services were held Oct. 5 with arrangements by Par-Troy Funeral Home, Parsippany.
