MORE THAN 180 people came to the JCC Central NJ, Scotch Plains, on Oct. 8 to hear gubernatorial candidates Amb. Phil Murphy (D) and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno (R) address the Jewish community at a forum hosted by the CRC of the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and the State Association of Jewish Federations. The candidates discussed issues including property tax relief, programs for aging in place, increased security funding for Jewish institutions, tax incentives for charitable giving, the N.J.-Israel relationship, and the rise in anti-Semitism. Both candidates said they stand for strengthening the N.J.-Israel partnership in business, technology and, especially, opportunities for collaboration in higher education.
The election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 6.
