Greta Baum

 Greta Baum of Monroe Township, 84, died Aug. 20, 2013. Born in Newark, she resided in Maplewood for many years before moving to Monroe in 1998.

Mrs. Baum was a graduate of Weequahic High School, Newark, and St. Peter’s Hospital in Jersey City, where she became a licensed X-ray technician.

An active volunteer, she was a member of Hadassah International for many years and was a congregant of Temple Beth Israel in Irvington for many years. She was later affiliated with Beit Shalom in Monroe.

Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Herbert F., she is survived by two daughters, Laura (Jerry) Tepper of Hillsborough and Ruth (Charlie) Burkhardt of Schenectady, NY; her son, Michael (Aimee) of Robbinsville; a sister, Pearl Sorkow of Fort Lee; and five grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 23 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
