Greta Bauer

Greta Bauer, 102, of Highland Park, formerly of Buffalo and Brocton, NY, died March 14, 2014. Born in Vienna, she was a Holocaust survivor whose story was documented in the film Live to Tell. 

Mrs. Bauer was a pianist for many religious and fraternal organizations in Brocton, Dunkirk, and Fredonia, NY; and a dress designer. She also managed her late husband’s medical practice. 

Predeceased by her husband, Paul; a daughter-in-law, Ruth C. Bauer; and a great-great-grandson, Jacob Goldsmith, she is survived by her son, Ulrich (Susan) of Somerset; her daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Miller of Westfield; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

Services were held March 18 with arrangements by Amherst Memorial Chapel, Inc., Getzville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Simon Wiesenthal Center.
