Greenwood House gala honors community leaders

COMMUNITY LEADERS Denise and Martin Siegel of Hamilton Jewelers in Princeton were honored at Greenwood House’s “Stand Up and Celebrate” gala. The couple was recognized for their decades of support of and service to the Jewish community’s senior living and care facility in Ewing.

Held May 18 at the Hyatt Regency Princeton, the event attracted over 400 attendees, including 100 individuals at the sponsorship level.

Comedian and actress Susie Essman, of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” entertained.

The Siegel family’s involvement with Greenwood House began in the 1940s, when Martin’s grandparents were residents in the facility’s original Trenton location. The Siegels have served on the board of directors, spearheaded numerous fund-raising events, and endowed the Martin and Denise Siegel Rehabilitation Unit.

The funds raised by the gala — just over $360,000 — will go toward innovative programming in Greenwood House’s short-term rehabilitative and skilled long-term care divisions.

Event cochairs were Linda Grenis and Lisa Tobia, event underwriter was Victor Walcoff, and presenting sponsors were Norman’s Hallmark and Hamilton Jewelers.
