Gertrude R. “Trudy” Greenberg, 86, of Dayton died June 14, 2011. Born in Newark, she later moved to Union, where she graduated from high school, and Maplewood.
Mrs. Greenberg retired from employment with AT&T in 1985. Prior to that, she and her husband, Harold, owned a dry cleaning store in Elizabeth and a smoke shop in Cranford.
She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and the local Democratic Party.
Predeceased by her husband of 40 years and her son, Steven, she is survived by her son, Richard of Millstone; her sister, Mildred Shalit of South Orange; her brother, Sanford Blumenfeld of Sherman, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
