Gerda von Halle, 83, of Livingston died Jan. 14, 2015. Born in Breslau, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1939 at age seven. She lived in Verona, Short Hills, and West Orange before moving to Livingston three years ago.
Mrs. von Halle studied at City College of New York.
She was a member of Temple Emanu-El of West Essex, Livingston, since the mid-1960s.
Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Gerald, a Holocaust survivor, in 2012, she is survived by two sons, Robert of Chicago and Peter of Ridgewood, and five grandsons.
Services were held Jan. 16 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
