Gerald Popkin

Gerald S. Popkin, 72, of Jackson died Nov. 25, 2011. Born in Trenton, he was a former resident of Lawrenceville.

Mr. Popkin was a professor of education at The College of New Jersey and Mercer County Community College. He retired from Millstone Public Schools as assistant superintendent and director of curriculum.

He received a BA from Rider University and an MA from Trenton State College.

He served as a trustee at Adath Israel Congregation, Lawrenceville.

He is survived by his wife, Harriet Berger Popkin, a sister, Cynthia Saperstein; and two nephews, Eric and Jonathan Saperstein.

Services were held Nov. 28 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Adath Israel Congregation (Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund) or Greenwood House, Ewing.
