Gerald Ingersoll

Gerald “Jerry” T. Ingersoll, 75, of Clifton died April 21, 2014. Born in South Dayton, NY, he lived in Clifton for the last 42 years.

Mr. Ingersoll was an information systems specialist who was a 9/11 World Trade Center survivor. He ended his career at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and was instrumental in implementing and maintaining the E-ZPass system.

He graduated from Hobart College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

He was an intelligence officer with the Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Randy (Gordon); his daughter, Hillary (Jamie) Knopping of North Caldwell; his son, C.J. (Kate Hayes) of New York City; three brothers, Lawrence, Jim, and Ron; and three grandchildren.

Services were held May 4 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
