George Weinberger

George Israel Weinberger, 81, of Livingston died Nov. 5, 2018. He was born and raised in Bayonne.

Mr. Weinberger, a C.P.A., began his 46-year career with the accounting firm of J.H. Cohn & Co. in Roseland. A tax accountant, he became a partner in J.H. Cohn in 1969.

He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1960.

He was an active member at Temple Beth Shalom in Livingston for over 40 years, holding positions including men’s club president and treasurer and vice president of the temple board, and also overseeing construction of a new building at the temple housing the school, social hall, and other facilities.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sheila (Gross); his son, Mark (Serilyn); his daughter, Sheryl; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 7 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
