George Bernstein

George Martin Bernstein, 80, of Morristown died Jan. 27, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Short Hills for 43 years before moving to Morristown in 2015. 

Mr. Bernstein was a CPA for Baker Nye Investments in New York City for over 30 years before retiring. 

He earned a BBA from University of Georgia in 1958, where he was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi. 

He served in the Army Reserves from 1958 to 1968, leaving as a first lieutenant. 

He was a member of the Millburn Township Board of Recreation Commissioners and the Millburn/Short Hills Republican Committee. 

He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Reiser); two sons, Bill (Lila) of Milltown and Neil (Gina) of Cedar Knolls; his daughter, Leah Worthy of West Bloomfield, Mich.; a sister, Thelma Haberman of White Plains, NY; and 11 grandchildren. 

Services were held Jan. 29 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
