Fred Goldstein, 89, of Union died Dec. 13, 2011. A Holocaust survivor born in Wloclawek, Poland, he came to the United States in 1949 and settled in Newark. He also resided in Hillside before moving to Union in 1971.
Mr. Goldstein owned and operated the Circle Barber Shop, Springfield, for 45 years before retiring last year.
He was a member of B’nai B’rith and the choir of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, Short Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Ann (Loter); two sons, Mark of Metuchen and Paul of Cranford; his daughter, Renee Goldstein of Cranford; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 15 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
