Frank Schlesinger
Frank A. Schlesinger, 95, of West Orange and Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., died Sept. 10, 2017. He was born in Newark.
In 1946 Mr. Schlesinger joined Louis Schlesinger Co., a real estate firm established by his grandfather in 1890, and eventually established his own business, Frank Schlesinger and Co. He worked for the American Institute of Appraisal and Newark Society of Industrial Realtors, serving as an officer in both the local and national chapters.
He graduated from Beverly Hills High School and attended the University of Wisconsin and University of California, Davis.
He was a soldier with the 69th Infantry Division in the European Theater during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievements in combat.
He served as a board member for the Boys Club of Newark as well as Family Service & Child Guidance Center, serving the Oranges, Maplewood, and Millburn. He was also active in the American Red Cross, Beth Israel Hospital, and the Jewish Community Center. He was a member of Mountain Ridge Country Club, West Caldwell, and the PGA National Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Margot; two daughters, Liz (John Adams) and Lynn (Bill Lum); his son, Richard; and five grandchildren.
