Frances Pellmar

Frances Pellmar, 91, of Tinton Falls, died Jan. 29, 2013.

With her husband, Ruben, Mrs. Pellmar opened Fran’s Foods in Rahway.

She attended Bernard Baruch School of The City of New York.

Mrs. Pellmar was a member of Edison Jewish Community Center/Congregation Beth El, Edison, where she served as recording secretary of Sisterhood from 1995-1997. She volunteered at Rahway Hospital for over ten years. She belonged to the Woodbridge Chapter of W.O.W, and was a member of O.R.T., Hadassah, AARP, the Literacy Volunteers of Middlesex County, and a participant of the Grand Parent Program at Edison Elementary Schools. She received the Betty Mazur Volunteer Award in 1997.

After moving to Seabrook Village, she began the Town Square Book Discussion Group and Poet’s Corner.

Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her son, Monte B. Pellmar, M.D., and his wife, Randi E. Pellmar of Wayside; her daughter, Terry C. Pellmar and her husband, Howard Leiken of Silver Spring, Md.; her grandchildren; and her great-granddaughters.

Services were held Jan. 31 with arrangements by Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean. Memorial contributions can be made to Sol Amor Hospice, 1415 Hooper Ave., Suite 203, Toms River, NJ 08753.
