Florence Wacks
Florence Wacks, 100, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died March 25, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, she was a former resident of Yardley, Pa.
Mrs. Wacks was a physical education teacher for the Trenton Board of Education for over 20 years before retiring.
She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from New York University. During her college years she worked at summer camps as a waterfront director and was an accomplished field hockey player.
She was the former president of the Trenton and Palm Beach sections of National Council of Jewish Women and was honored with the Hannah G. Solomon Award. She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women and was active in women’s rights.
Predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, she is survived by her daughter, Alice (Howard) Welt; her son, Robert A. (Ellen); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 28 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County or Har Sinai Temple.
