Florence Brody

Florence Brody, 93, of Boca Raton, Fla., died Nov. 26, 2018. She was born in Newark.

Mrs. Brody and her husband Martin were involved in many philanthropic and civic endeavors, and she hosted many social, business, and philanthropic events. A theater and art devotee, she served on the board of The New York Shakespeare Festival, where she staged fund-raising events, and The Folk Art Museum. She was also active in the Jewish community, chairing events for the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.

She attended Weequahic High School in Newark and graduated from Upsala College.

She is survived by her son, Marc Robert (Carleen); her daughter, Renee Brody (Alan) Levow; and three grandchildren.

A graveside memorial service was held Dec. 9 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ or Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.
