OVER 100 PEOPLE heard Dr. Mark C. Goldberg, of Consultants in Cardiology in West Orange, present vital information on women and heart disease as part of Every Beat Counts, Hadassah’s Heart Health program, on Feb. 22 at the Cooperman JCC in West Orange.

The program was cosponsored by Hadassah Northern NJ, JCC MetroWest, the JCC Association of North America, and Saint Barnabas Health

At the event, Northern NJ Hadassah president Stephanie Z. Bonder introduced “Every Step Counts,” a program running April 11-July 25 that encourages women to walk as part of a regimen to ensure a healthy heart. Go to  hadassah.org/everystepcounts to register.

Hadassah’s Heart Health program is designed to educate community members that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women and is preventable 82 percent of the time. Hadassah national president Ellen Hershkin said, “Every Beat Counts engages women by connecting them with information on current research, treatments, and medical breakthroughs at Hadassah Medical Organization’s Heart Institute, which has been at the forefront of promoting health and wellness as a leading component in the prevention of heart disease.”
