Franz Rosenzweig, a German Jewish Theologian and philosopher created the Star of Redemption, connecting God, Torah and Israel through the actions of Creation, Revelation and Redemption. Join us for the first half of this 6-part series as they examine the core concepts of God, Torah and Israel and their place in Jewish tradition and connection to our lives today. “Cuba’s Forgotten Jewels,” a film depicting a family’s escape from the Nazis and immigration to Havana, will be screened at East Brunswick Jewish Center on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m. The evening will include a discussion of Cuban-Jewish life and desserts; dairy refreshments will be served. Cantorial Shabbaton
Cantor Jeffrey Weber will be in residence Friday-Saturday, Feb. 1-2, for the Tenth Annual Suzanne and Sandor Gross Memorial Cantorial Shabbaton at Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth. Weber, who will lead Shabbat services and speak on cantorial music topics, is cantor at Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park, Pa. Shabbat dinner will follow Friday night services.
