Writers’ workshop
“Storytelling: A Human Need,” a creative writing workshop, will be offered by Elizabeth A. Pallitto, M.A., Ph.D., on Monday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at JCC of Middlesex County, Edison. Focusing on self-expression, the class also offers writing techniques and self-editing, as well as tips on submitting work for publications. Cost is $5, free for Community Campus members. “Our Stories, Ourselves — Jewish Journaling and More,” facilitated by Michele Bernstein Klausner, director of The Journal Center, is held at the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth Country, Freehold, Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m.-noon. The Cairo Geniza is the largest cache of Jewish manuscripts ever discovered. It comprises 400,000 fragments of books, letters, legal documents and other writings that have made the Jews of the medieval Arabic speaking world one of the best-documented premodern societies known to mankind. The Morris County Historical Society's latest exhibit explores cultural history through a retrospective featuring nearly 100 pieces from its historic textile collection. The exhibit highlights cultural milestones from the 1920s to the 1970s and clothing styles mirrored historical events.
