In partnership with the Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks, the Greater Trenton Jewish Cemetery Project, dedicated to rehabilitating and preserving five Jewish cemeteries dating back to 1857, will hold an event on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. at the Lawrenceville offices of Stark & Stark, Lawrenceville. Women Warriors of Chanukah
We all know Judah, Antiochus and Mattathias – but there are other characters in the Chanukah story – women who played an important role in the Biblical tale as well as other Jewish female warriors from later years. This class will examine Judith and Hannah – looking at their roles in the story and how their actions set a precedent for Jewish female activists throughout history. Free and open to the community.
