It’s Time To Take Steps
Early 1 in 200 Americans live each day with Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis. Living with these inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) can be challenging and isolating. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation is dedicated to curing these diseases and improving the quality of life of children and adults affected. "Take Steps" is the Foundation's largest fundraising event. Neve Shalom and the Metuchen Edison Area Interfaith Clergy Association (MEAICA) will sponsor a 5K Hunger Walk on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. The walk will begin and end at the Metuchen synagogue; funds collected will help alleviate hunger locally, nationally, and globally. Dr. Edwin Galkin at the present time is flying around the world in a single engine plane for the third time to raise money for Alzheimer's. Check out his website aroundtheworldagain3.com. It is an amazing trip! He grew up in Hoboken and lives in Edison with his wife bobbie. He has practiced periodontal dentistry and implants in Woodbridge for many many years. This trip around the world will take 6 weeks and he left on October 26th.
