As part of a weeklong visit by Israel Defense Forces combat veterans to Edison/Highland Park, a community dinner will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, at Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva, Edison. JCC of Middlesex County, Edison, will take a trip to the NJ Performing Arts Center in Newark for a NJSO performance of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and Stravinsky’s “Firebird” on Thursday, Nov. 29. The Religious School of Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains will hold a community-wide Hanukkah party on Saturday, December 8, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The celebration, which coincides with the seventh night of Hanukkah, is free and open to the public.
