SUMMARY:Welcome to America
DESCRIPTION:Neve Shalom\, Metuchen\, will host a “Welcome to America” concert — an afternoon of multicultural music\, costumes\, and foods — on Sunday\, Dec. 2\, at 3 p.m.  \nMusical groups include Makhelat HaMercaz\, the Jewish Choir of Central New Jersey\, performing songs in Hebrew and Yiddish by Jewish immigrants to America or their composer children; an Indonesian percussion group playing “Kalingtan” instruments; the Edison Chinese Choir\, with over 60 performers; and children of Neve Shalom\, who will perform Chanukah songs and light the first candle of the menorah. A kosher Chinese meat dinner catered by Chinese Kosher Express of Manalapan will follow the concert. Concert tickets cost $10; $12 additional for dinner; reservations must be made by Nov. 26.
