The Simon & Garfunkel Songbook: an Evening of Songs & Stories
March 16, 2019 , 8:00 pm
$32 – $35This fun and profoundly poignant show celebrates the iconic songs and career of Simon & Garfunkel, as well as their contribution to American Pop Culture in the 1960s and beyond.
Unquestionably, the music speaks for itself, presented here in beautiful fashion by the renowned Aztec Two-Step Rex Fowler & Friends; but so does the story line of the Songbook show, which was originally created by the late great Pete Fornatale, a renowned pioneer of progressive FM radio, rock historian and author. Now emceeing, and the show’s sparkling narrator and multimedia director, is Fornatale’s longtime friend and protégé Tony Traguardo, WCWP radio host and Long Island Music Hall of Fame co-founder.
The well-loved songs, entertaining and oftentimes hilarious multimedia slideshow coupled with Rex and Tony’s endearing charm, all add up to an unforgettable celebration of both the music and career of the great Simon & Garfunkel. Laughter and nostalgia abound, and a sing a-long is always in the mix!
“It was a great night of stories and songs… outstanding performances with insightful, entertaining musings……Wonderful, wonderful!! The audience just loved every minute of it!” – Barbara Lavery, Director, Bendheim Performing Arts Center, Scarsdale NY
