The Myth and Reality of Judaism: Misconceptions Set Straight

Adath Shalom, Parsippany. Scholar in residence is Rabbi Ron Isaacs, who will present “Bubbe Meises: Jewish Myths, Jewish Realities” at 7:15 Friday night services and following a kosher Chinese dinner at 6 (RSVP; cost $15/adult, $7 under 12, $36 family max). An oneg will follow. At 9 a.m. services on Saturday, Isaacs will give the d’var Torah: “Talking to God and
Really Meaning It,” followed by a kiddush luncheon. An 8 p.m. Havdalah service and dairy dessert will include a talk by Isaacs: “Jewish Folklore: Magic and Superstition.”
