Congregation Shaya Ahavat Torah, Parsippany. Dr. George S. Rotter Memorial Shabbaton begins with Shabbat services at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner, and a presentation by Mendelevich, a former refusenik from the Soviet Union, “Confession of a Jewish Hijacker.” On June 15 Mendelevich will discuss “Tasting and Embracing Freedom: From Prisoner for Zion to Citizen of Zion World” following 9 a.m. services and kiddush.
