Kristallnacht commemoration

February 26, 2019 , 7:00 pm

“Survivors of Kristallnacht: An 80-Year Immigrant Perspective” will be cosponsored by East Brunswick Hadassah and the East Brunswick Public Library on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in the library.

Speakers are Eugene Gottlieb, author of “From a Wine Barrel and Chicken Coops to Silicon on Sapphire,” who will share the story of hiding in a wine barrel during Kristallnacht and immigrating to Woodbine, where he was raised on a poultry farm and ultimately became a scientist.

Ruth Gottlieb, author of “Once We Had a Country,” will tell of her experience surviving Nazis breaking into her home and her eventual immigration to the United States.

Donations of suits, slacks, shirts, ties, and accessories will be collected for Hire Attire, to help job-hunting immigrants. For information, call Chris at 732-238-1749.
