Holocaust resistance series

Lola Kline, niece of the three brothers who led the Bielski partisan group during World War II, will kick off a three-part series on Holocaust resistance at 11:15 a.m. at Congregation B’nai Israel, Rumson.
In the first part, Kline will speak of her experiences and describe partisan resistance to the Nazis. Program moderators are Jane Denny, adjunct professor at Stockton University and former director of education at the Center for Holocaust, Human Rights, and Genocide Education (Chhange) at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, and Jack Needle, retired professor of history at Brookdale. (Participants are encouraged to view the film “Defiance” in advance.)
On Jan. 13, Needle will elaborate on “The Various Dimensions of Resistance.”
The last program of the series, on Jan. 20, will be “Other Actions of Jewish Armed Resistance,” a focus on the Warsaw Ghetto uprising and the Auschwitz Sonderkommando rebellion.
