Beth El Synagogue Werner Lecture Fund Presents “The Secret Jews of Calabria”

On Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 7:00 pm, the Beth El Synagogue of East Windsor, Werner Lecture Fund presents “The Secret Jews of Calabria”.
Jews have had a presence in Calabria for at least 1600 years and possibly as much as 2300 years.
The Jews of Calabria are virtually identical to the neighboring Jews of Sicily but are considered separate.
Rabbi Barbara takes you on this challenging journey through “toe” of the Italian “boot” as she shares the joys and struggles of the “bnei anusim” – Italians whose families were forced into Christian conversion.
Admission is free. Italian desserts will be served.
