Eva Pallay (Pogarsky), 85, of Parsippany died Dec. 23, 2015. She lived in Fort Lee before moving to Parsippany three years ago.
Mrs. Pallay was a Hebrew school principal in Long Island and New Jersey, most notably at Smithtown and Wantagh Jewish centers. She also taught at Congregation B’nai Israel in Millburn.
She was a graduate of Brooklyn College and received her PhD in Judaic studies from Herzlia Jewish Teachers College.
Predeceased by her husband, Norman, she is survived by five sons, Robert (Thea), Howard, Daniel, Gerald, and Arnold (Robin); 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 24 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish National Fund or Hadassah.
